My career in the Australian Locksmithing industry commenced in 1983. Until recently I was an integral part of Sydney's oldest and most trusted Locksmithing Companies - George Tall & Co. My history started in 1922 when my grandfather (John Ellis Fuller) started the family Locksmithing Company in Bulletin Place, Sydney. Apart from the recognized certificate of Apprenticeship to Tradesman, a wealth of knowledge, training and expertise has been passed on through three generations of excellence in their field of trade, which is unequaled in this country.

During November of 1999, George Tall & Co began examining recovered stolen vehicles for Sydney Insurance companies with the aim of discovering the method of bypass to the security devices of vehicles and buildings. Since 1999, I have reported on over 1000 recovered vehicles for the NSW Police Services, Solicitors and Insurance companies of Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra, Melbourne and Hobart.

The nature and demands of this field of work is such that I formed a new company in January 2003 to focus exclusively on Forensic Locksmithing. I have since undertaken studies of the Scanning Electron Microscope at Sydney University and several manufacturers training courses relating to engine immobiliser systems. During my time as a Forensic Locksmith I have constantly re-assessed my methods and equipment with the aim of producing reports that reflect the facts as investigated in an unbiased manner. In all cases, the focus of the examination is to recreate the condition of the security devices before and during the theft event and the accumulation of evidence to determine if such evidence exists to conclusively show authentic bypass of the system(s) has occurred. The frustration of inconclusive findings is, unfortunately a possible result of any examination, though the most satisfying result in any examination is the revealing of conclusive evidence to show that the security device was or was not defeated by illicit means - and that is the aim of the Forensic Locksmith - to reveal the evidence, regardless of who would benifit the most from the findings.
